Prism Poles / Ranging Poles
A prism pole / ranging pole is a surveying instrument consisting of a straight rod painted in bands of alternate red and white stripes each one approximatley a foot wide. It is used for sightings by surveyors. A prism head can be attached to the top of the pole to act as a movable marker for use when using a total station.
